After the spring of 1991 the group officially disbanded due to my promotion within the Plymouth
Police Department to Chief of Police and the large commitment necessary to run such an operation.
But, during this time the Lord still had work for me to do and led me to The First Baptist Church
of Canton where I served by singing in the choir, leading a men’s special music quartet and,
taking the minister of music place to lead the choir and service in his absence. |

This special music men’s trio was well received and would have continued in this capacity had it not
been for a pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan. My duties as Chief of Police where
very demanding but this pastor called me continually requesting that I come and sing for them.
And, my response was always the same I’m just too busy to come and sing for you good folks. |
After this pastor’s insistent requests I reluctantly told him we would come and do a service
for the church. I asked Robert Leatherwood & Joe Calderoni to come sing with me and
in November just before Thanksgiving 1994 this trio sang for a senior’s lunch
at Calvary Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan. |

The reception was quite overwhelming not only from the people present but also
from the community. Unknown to me the local press was invited and did a great article
on the days events. That article is available in our history section. From that review I kept
receiving calls to come and sing at manychurches. |

In February 1995, our church home asked us to come and sing for a noon lunch for our seniors.
Over 300 people showed up. What a blessing that service was and of course then
people began asking us for tapes and CD's. And so, in 1995 we went to Nashville and
recorded a project on Daywind Records. We received much encouragement from those
folks to continue recording and serving the Lord in the music ministry.
With that began the all male trio ministry known as The Chapels. |
