By the end of 1999 the group had began preparing for a new album with brother Gerald. I was
preparing for retiring from the Plymouth Police Department. I also had been experiencing some
recurring physical problems that were the results of hurting my back taking out tree stumps at my
home in 1995. I had undergone surgery to correct the injury, but still had problems. |

With the many years of traveling, recording and running a PD my doctor advised me
to continue this pace would not be good. I needed to slow down and rest. |
|
I prayed for a long time about leaving a ministry that I truly loved with all my heart.
A ministry that God had so graciously allowed me to begin and grow for Him. A ministry that
had seen so many have their names written in the book of life. And the Lord answered
my prayer by giving me the peace with my decision. |

On a Sunday afternoon April 30th, 2000 I sang my last concert as a member of The Chapels
in Exeter, Ontario Canada in front of a crowd of about 600. We closed the service with
“A Moment In Time” and I felt God’s peace and love surround me. It was a moving service
and one I’ll always remember and be proud of. |

Brother Ron took over the group with my departure and the Lord sent Brother Scott Williams
to sing with the group. The Chapels recorded Here Today And Gone Tomorrow in the
summer of 2000 with Scott on tenor and did a great job. |

In 2002 brother Williams was replaced by the group’s current tenor Michael Rushlow and during
that time have recorded three albums. This talented group of men have been committed to
serving Christ and traveling where He leads to spread the gospel in song and God has always
provided at every turn. It has been a great blessing and honor to have been the founder,
member of The Chapels and to serve Jesus Christ in His ministry. |
